The Kansas City Chiefs returned to the practice field on Wednesday to prepare for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans and had nearly their entire roster available to participate. After only having one player — Matt Cassel — on the injury report last week, the Chiefs have a increased that number by one. Their quarterback, however, is not one of those names.
Did Not Participate
Cory Greenwood (illness)
Donald Washington (ankle)
How about Cassel off the injury report completely two weeks after his appendectomy? An incredible comeback.
As for the names that found their way to the report, they don’t stand to have too big of an impact on the game with the Titans.
Greenwood is a crucial special teamer, but the Chiefs units haven’t exactly excelled this season so it’s hard to get too worked up if his illness keeps him out of action.
A combination of injuries and his versatility have put Washington on the field much more than last season when he was little used as a rookie, but he is clearly still learning. If the injury report is to be believed and the rest of the defensive secondary is healthy than Romeo Crennel’s defense will be just fine without the services of Washington.
