With the 86th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected DE Allen Bailey from Miami.
Scouts Inc. assigned a rating of 81 to Bailey and ranked him as the 13th defensive end.
You can check out his school profile here.
Look, we have another team captain sighting!
Bailey is a kid that struggled staying healthy in high school and early at Miami, but finished his career by playing in his final 26 games and 50 overall, good for third on the school’s all-time list. Has impressive speed (4.71 40) for his size (285 pounds) but not sure that he is anything more than a rotation guy definitely as a rookie and maybe beyond.
Spent time this season at both defensive end and also tackle in some nickel packages. Early on his career he played a little linebacker, so he brings plenty of versatility along with his leadership.
The Chiefs will have a hard time finding anyone that hits the weights as hard as Bailey does, as he won the Miami strength and conditioning award his junior and senior year.
Grew up in a town of a whopping 60 residents in Hog Hammock on Georgia’s Sapelo Island.
