When the Kansas City Chiefs called WR Jonathan Baldwin on draft night, he told KSNT about how he tried to keep it a secret from the rest of his family. “Tried” being the key word.
“Well they called me and asked if I wanted to be a Chief and I just smiled,” Baldwin, said. “I had a couple people in my parents room and everybody else was in the living room and I wanted to keep it a secret so when my name was called everybody would be excited.”
“But my dad was so excited that he couldn’t hold it in. It was a blessing and just looking forward to it.”
It’s important to keep stressing that what Baldwin says now doesn’t mean he will be easy to manage when he’s on the field, but every time I hear from the Chiefs first round pick he sounds like anything but a diva.
