With the 146th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs selected CB/S DeQuan Menzie from Alabama
Scouts Inc. assigned Menzie a rating of 62 and ranked him the 19th best cornerback.
You can check out his school profile here.
The Chiefs desperately needed depth in the secondary and Menzie is a guy that can come in and help out both at corner and safety. He played corner at Alabama, but safety at the Senior Bowl and will probably be best suited as a safety in the NFL.
At the very least, the versatility he brings to the table gives Scott Pioli and Romeo Crennel more options when trying to figure out how the final roster will shake out.
Another solid pick from Kansas City as they work on addressing the lack of depth that plagued the franchise last season.
