Just days after firing head coach Romeo Crennel, the Kansas City Chiefs have found his replacement in former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid. The two sides have come to terms on a contract and Reid is on his way to Kansas City.
Chiefs owner Clark Hunt flew out to Philadelphia to bring Reid and his wife back to Kansas City for a press conference that will likely happen Monday.
The deal between the Chiefs and Reid is said to be for five years and though not yet official, will be once the specifics are ironed out between the lawyers for both sides.
Also not official, but likely, is John Dorsey of the Green Bay Packers joining the Chiefs as the new General Manager. Dorsey is currently the Packers director of operations and will have no shortage of other opportunities — specifically the New York Jets — if he doesn’t end up joining Reid in Kansas City.
You might not like each of these hires, but give Hunt credit. He knew the direction he wanted to go and didn’t let anything slow him down in his pursuit.
