Former Chiefs linebacker Monty Beisel was signed by the Arizona Cardinals today.
Beisel, an eight-year veteran, was with the Cardinals from 2006-08 before signing with Kansas City in the offseason. He appeared in three games with the Chiefs before being cut on September 29th. The Chiefs filled his roster spot with former Cardinals teammate Leonard Pope.
In 113 career contests, including 19 starts, the linebacker has registered 4 1/2 sacks, two interceptions and 201 total tackles with Kansas City, New England and Arizona.
The Cardinals also re-signed defensive end Jason Banks and linebacker Pago Togafau to the practice squad, while releasing defensive tackle Antoine Holmes and another former Chiefs Jed Collins.
I’m shocked it took Beisel two months to find work. He’s no superstar, but you never have to worry about his effort, especially when it comes to special teams.
It’s good to see him land in a place that he’s clearly comfortable.
