Three Chiefs Unable To Practice

The Kansas City Chiefs first injury report for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals includes seven players, a sharp decrease from last week.

Of the six injured Chiefs, G Jon Asamoah, WR Jon Baldwin and TE Jake O’Connell were the only ones unable to practice. Baldwin was shaken up late in Monday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers when his head hit the turf, while O’Connell is dealing with a sore ankle and Asamoah’s problem is his hand.

DT Dontari Poe, WR Dwayne Bowe and TE Steve Maneri were all limited, but all three should be able to suit up at Arrowhead this weekend.

QB Brady Quinn was a full participant in practice, despite head coach Romeo Crennel saying Matt Cassel would start at quarterback because Quinn has yet to be cleared to play. This is likely where the miscommunication between Quinn and Crennel lies, he is clear to practice, but not play.

It’s promising to see T Branden Albert, G Jeff Allen, CB Javier Arenas, RB Jamaal Charles, WR Terrance Copper, RB Nate Eachus, C Ryan Lilja and WR Devon Wylie all come off the injury report this week.

The Chiefs will need as full a deck as possible to pick off a Bengals squad coming off a huge win over the defending champion New York Giants.

Cincinnati’s injury report has eight players, including four that were unable to participate.
