When the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon they will finally have CB Brandon Flowers on the field. After missing all of the preseason and last week’s opener against the Atlanta Falcons, Flowers was able to practice fully and show he is ready to play.
Even though the team is listing Flowers as “questionable”, he said he would be out there with his teammates.
“I’m putting the injury all the way behind me and I’m ready to go,” Flowers told reporters after practice.
The news wasn’t as good for the rest of the Chiefs on the injury report. Before heading to Buffalo, the team ruled DE Allen Bailey, S Kendrick Lewis, NT Anthony Toribio and WR Devon Wylie all “out” for Sunday. While Bailey, Lewis and Toribio were able to practice on a limited basis this week, the rookie Wylie couldn’t practice due to a hamstring injury.
The sixth player on the Chiefs final injury report is CB Jalil Brown. He was “questionable” last week, was active for the game and carries the same designation into Sunday’s matchup in Buffalo.
Across the field, the Bills aren’t expecting any surprises on the injury front. RB Fred Jackson and WR David Nelson are both dealing with knee injuries that will keep them out long term and weren’t ever expected to even practice this week. The only other Buffalo player to miss time was DT Marcell Dareus after the death of his brother, but he was able to return to the team and will play Sunday.
