The Kansas City Chiefs hit the practice field on Wednesday to prepare for Sunday’s game at Denver and listed three players on their injury report. Two of the names look familiar, but a new one has been added.
Kendrick Lewis (hamstring)
Dexter McCluster (ankle)
Brian Waters (shoulder)
Lewis and McCluster were both out last week, but Waters was a full participant in practice and played in the game against Oakland. Considering how he fought through a bad leg injury last year, I have a hard time believing that we need to worry about Waters missing any time.
It’s a good sign that McCluster looks to be on the way back. Instead of standing around, the shifty rookie actually did some drills on the field as he slowly comes back from a high ankle sprain.
It would appear that Lewis was close to a full participant, but we have seen just how tough it is for a player to get clear of a hamstring injury. The defense missed having Lewis in the defensive backfield and on special teams against the Raiders, so the team would obviously love to get him back out on the field against Denver.
