The Kansas City Chiefs released their list of seven inactive players for tonight’s game against the Denver Broncos and it includes a bit of a surprise.
QB Tyler Bray, DT Jaye Howard, LB Nico Johnson, OL Rishaw Johnson, C Eric Kush, CB Dunta Robinson, OL Rokevious Watkins
Robinson has been dressing the last three games, but not being used by defensive coordinator Bob Sutton.
Now with the return of rookie S Sanders Commings from IR, the veteran is a healthy scratch. Despite his struggles, this seemed like the perfect game for Robinson considering how many defensive backs the Chiefs defense is likely to need against Peyton Manning’s offense.
Another minor surprise is WR Kyle Williams being active for his first game with the Chiefs.
Kansas City claimed Williams Wednesday from the San Francisco 49ers and he’ll be quickly thrown into a game being played in the national spotlight. Considering he’s most known for wilting under the big lights, it will be curious to see how much the Chiefs use Williams against the Broncos.
As was expected all week, Manning is active and will play despite an ankle injury suffered last week against the San Diego Chargers. On the other side of the ball, Denver will be without CB Champ Bailey, who was doubtful heading into the weekend.
