The Kansas City Chiefs announced their list of seven inactive players for today’s game against the Denver Broncos and there weren’t any surprises. The team left the surprises for the starting lineup, with the offensive line seeing a shake up.
QB Tyler Bray, LB Justin Houston, LB Nico Johnson, OL Rishaw Johnson, C Eric Kush, OL Rokevious Watkins
LB Tamba Hali was listed as questionable on the Chiefs final injury report, but said all week he’d play and he will. In fact, all four players listed as questionable for Kansas City will suit up this afternoon.
However, two of them, G Jon Asamoah and T Eric Fisher, will return to the active roster as backups. They will watch from the sidelines as G Geoff Schwartz and T Donald Stephenson keep their starting jobs.
The Chiefs will also get back DE Mike DeVito, who missed last week’s loss to the San Diego Chargers. With Houston out, Bob Sutton’s defense will need to get as much help from the defensive line as possible to try and get to Broncos QB Peyton Manning.
It’s also worth noting that with the season-ending injury to S Sanders Commings, CB Dunta Robinson is active and should see time in the defensive backfield as the Chiefs try to slow down the Broncos passing attack.
LB Josh Martin took the roster spot of Commings and will appear in his first NFL game. He was inactive at the beginning of the season for all three games he spent on the Chiefs 53-man roster. Due to Houston’s absence, Martin and his pass rush ability could get some snaps on defense.
