Battle, McGraw Only Chiefs On Injury Report

For the second straight week, the Kansas City Chiefs have the shortest injury report in the NFL.  Interim head coach Romeo Crennel listed just two players, S Jon McGraw and RB Jackie Battle on the Chiefs first injury report for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs also had two players on their final report last week, including McGraw, but this time around Battle is taking the place of C Casey Wiegmann.

McGraw missed the last two games with an ankle injury, but was limited Wednesday and is looking like he could return for the season finale in Denver against Tim Tebow.  Things don’t look as good for Battle, who was wearing a walking boot and was deemed “doubtful” by Crennel.

The defense has mostly been able to handle the loss of McGraw, but the depth in the secondary would help.  Battle had his moments early in the season after Jamaal Charles was lost for the season, but with no real running game to speak of lately it won’t hurt on offense to be without him.  Dexter McCluster and Thomas Jones will pick up the slack with a little Le’Ron McClain mixed in for good measure.

Denver has five players on their first injury report, including S Brian Dawkins and LB Von Miller.  Dawkins did not participate, while Miller practiced in full.
