Former Kansas City Chiefs kicker Connor Barth has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following a workout today.
To make room for Barth, the Bucs released Shane Andrus, who was just 0-1 in four games. GM Mark Dominik said consistency in practice was also a concern.
Barth, a second year pro, was 10-12 for the chiefs last year. He spent the preseason with the Miami Dolphins.
Good to see Barth find a new home, especially with a franchise that is rebuilding. If he makes a good impression, he could be a part of their plans for the long term.
After the Chiefs drafted Ryan Succop I thought there might be a competition between the two kickers which obviously never materialized. It’s safe to say with Barth in Tampa and Succop nearly perfect for Kansas City that the situation has worked out for all parties involved.
