For the second straight game, the Kansas City Chiefs listed QB Matt Cassel as a non-participant in practice following his appendectomy, but he was not alone on the injury report. There weren’t, however, many other players that joined him.
Did Not Participate
Matt Cassel (illness)
Kendrick Lewis (ankle)
Donald Washington (ankle)
The thin Chiefs secondary sure could use Lewis back on the field and to a lesser extent Washington, but I think we know there’s only one injured player that is going to get all the attention between now and kickoff. Or at least until Friday when game day injury designations are released. If Kansas City rules Cassel out then the focus can shift to Brodie Croyle stepping in as starter and if the two injured defensive backs will be playing against Philip Rivers.
