Once Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel were hired by Todd Haley to run the offense and defense, it was a matter of time before the rest of the staff fell into place. That happened today with several coaches coming and going, the team announced.

Richie Anderson (Wide Receivers), Anthony Pleasant (Assistant Coach – Defense) and Bernie Parmalee (Tight Ends) have joined Todd Haley’s staff.

Anderson served an NFL minority coaching fellowship with Kansas City in 2009. He previously worked as a tight ends/asst. wide receivers coach with the N.Y. Jets in 2006. A 13-year NFL veteran as a fullback, Anderson appeared in 161 regular season games (88 starts) for the N.Y. Jets (1993-02) and Dallas (2003-05).

Pleasant originally joined the Chiefs as an NFL minority fellowship coach in 2009. A 14-year NFL defensive lineman, Pleasant played in 202 regular season games (157 starts) with Cleveland (’90-95), Baltimore (’96), Atlanta (’97), the N.Y. Jets (’98-99), San Francisco (2000) and New England (2001-03).

Parmalee spent time with the New York Jets when Haley was on the scouting and coaching staffs there. He also worked under Weis at Notre Dame and is credited for helping develop tight ends John Carlson and Anthony Fasano.

Pat Perles has been reassigned on the coaching staff. Perles will now serve as the club’s assistant offensive line coach after working as Kansas City’s defensive quality control coach in 2009.

In addition, the Chiefs also announced that Bob Bicknell, Clancy Pendergast and Dedric Ward will not return to the coaching staff.

And with that the staff should finally be complete, with a few low level assistants coming and going between now and training camp.

Bicknell has already been hired by Chan Gailey in Buffalo and hopefully Pendergast and Ward will be right behind him. They all seemed like good football men and certainly able to help out on a staff in the league.
