Sippio is widely considered the best Arena Football player in the game today having been named First Team All-Arena in his last season of Arena Football.

Sippio has previously played Arena Football with the Chicago Rush, Tampa Bay Storm and Dallas Desperados and spent time in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions.  He led the Arena Football League with an amazing 53 touchdown receptions during the 2007 campaign with Chicago.

“Bobby brings a unique skill set to our team”, said Head Coach Pat O’Hara.  “Bobby brings a dynamic winning attitude to the game and we are blessed to have him.  I’m also excited that he will be able to showcase his talents in his hometown”.

After leading the AFL in touchdowns in 2007 he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs where he made the team’s final 53 man roster.  During Chiefs training camp, he was heavily featured on the HBO series Hard Knocks.  Later released by the Chiefs, Sippio spent time in the United Football League with the California Redwoods and the Florida Tuskers.  At 6’3″ and 215 pounds, Sippio will be among the tallest receivers in the Arena Football League and make him a difficult target to cover.

“I have always wanted to play in Orlando,” said Sippio.  “Having played my high school ball here, the opportunity to play in front of my friends and family in ‘The Jungle’ is something I am looking forward to”.

It’s amazing how a player with a total of 2 special teams tackles and one punt return for 6 yards can have staying power with Chiefs fans.

Former Chiefs wide receiver Bobby Sippio returned to football yesterday, signing with the Chicago Slaughter of the Continental Indoor Football League.

According to a news release from the team, Sippio will help strengthen the Slaughter’s receiving corps after an injury to wideout Donovan Morgan who was leading the CIFL in most receiving statistical categories.

Sippio, who played for Western Kentucky University, played for the Chicago Rush from 2006 to 2007, helping the Rush win the AFL championship in 2006. Sippio was also a member of the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2007 season. Sippio (6-foot-3, 215 pounds) is the eighth former Rush player to join the Slaughter.  Sippio was excited to be back in the windy city.

“Once again, I get to play in front of the great Chicago fans.  I hope to help the Slaughter stay on top and win a championship.”

I wonder if Dwayne Bowe will go to any of the games and support his cousin?  Sippio never got anything done with the Chiefs, but he sure did make “Hard Knocks” on HBO more entertaining.  And if you didn’t think it was a slow news day before…

After trading away their best basketball player in Tony Gonzalez, it appears the Chiefs quickly brought in a replacement.  Iowa State Cyclones senior guard Anna Florzak will spend the summer working for the Kansas City Chiefs as a marketing intern.

The 5-foot-10 Kansas City is hoping to work on marketing the ISU-Kansas State football game that will take place at Arrowhead Stadium.  After work she wants to work on her shooting and play in some pickup games.

“I know there are some schools there, and I know the UMKC coaches so hopefully I can set something up where I play a few times a week with them.”

C’mon, Anna, start up some pickup games at One Arrowhead Drive!  Just in case you were wondering, Florzak is as tall or taller than five players currently on the Chiefs roster.
