Jon Asamoah Downgraded On Latest Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs could be down two players on the offensive and defensive lines when the San Diego Chargers come to Arrowhead Sunday afternoon.

Starting right tackle Eric Fisher injured his shoulder in last week’s loss to the Denver Broncos and was unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday. It’s looking more and more likely that reserve tackle Donald Stephenson will need to step in for the first overall pick.

The Chiefs also saw guard Jon Asamoah leave the field Sunday night in Denver, but looked like he could be good to go. He was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday, but was downgraded Thursday and did not participate.

If Asamoah is unable to play, veteran Geoff Schwartz would fill in.

On the other side of the football the Chiefs announced both Mike Devito and Tyson Jackson both missed a second straight practice. It will be interesting to see Devito’s final status, because Adam Teicher from The Star tweeted from practice that the veteran was “back to work“, which obviously doesn’t match up with the injury report.

The Chargers had a downgrade of their own. Center Nick Hardwick, who has started all ten games this year for San Diego, had been a full participant but was limited on Thursday.
