The Kansas City Chiefs have reportedly signed undrafted free agent WR Josue Paul from Central Connecticut State University.
Scouts Inc. assigned a rating of 20 to Paul and ranked him as the 163rd WR.
You can see his CCSU profile here.
The 5-foot-11, 223-pound Paul only played in six games for the Northeast Conference co-champions. He caught 23 passes for 426 yards and three touchdowns. Paul also returned eight kicks for 177 yards, including a 90-yard touchdown that helped earn him conference special teams player of the week. During his four years at Central, Paul returned four kicks for touchdowns.
Not only can Paul fly, but he put up 28 reps of 225 at his pro day which would have been a new record at the NFL Combine.
Bringing in the super-quick Paul in addition to Demond Washington, the Chiefs seem determined to come away from this UDFA class with a kick returner. Unlike Washington, Paul has been able to run past lesser competition in the FCS, something he won’t be able to do this weekend when he puts on the pads for the first time.
