Most talk leading up to the draft surrounds the potential of a player falling to a team, but a popular name connected to the Kansas City Chiefs is likely to be available at No. 11 in most scenarios: Stanford’s David DeCastro.

Will Scott Pioli trade up for Ryan Tannehill? He may, but it would be very much out of character. The Chiefs should take David DeCastro. He is by far the best player available and the best Guard prospect since Steve Hutchinson. He will lock down an offensive line spot for ten plus years, more than likely at a multiple Pro Bowl level. When the floor for a player is a few Pro Bowls, you don’t walk, you run that card to the podium!
For all the talk about the Chiefs potentially shaking things up with a trade up for Tannehill, the most logical move is not to make one at all. Some will argue this is too high for a guard, but was Hutchinson drafted too early at 17 back in 2001?
If DeCastro ends up anywhere near as good as Hutchinson, Kansas City will have a steal on their hands.
