The Chiefs have activated WR Dwayne Bowe from the reserve/suspended list.
To clear room, the team placed running back Dantrell Savage on injured reserve and released wide receiver Quinten Lawrence. The Chiefs also activated guard Darryl Harris from the practice squad.
Chiefs coach Todd Haley didn’t announce whether Bowe would start Sunday, but we have to imagine he’ll be a significant part of the offense.
Despite missing four games, Bowe remains the team’s leading receiver with 466 yards.
The only way Bowe wasn’t going to start was if for some reason he wasn’t ready to be activated. But by all accounts he looked good all week long after returning to the team Monday, drawing praise from Haley on more than one occasion. Bowe has a chance to turn the page on his career here with these final three games by finishing strong and heading into the offseason on a high note.
This will be a very different team next season and for the offense to take a big step forward the Chiefs will need a very different Dwayne Bowe.
