Right as the Kansas City Chiefs were on the verge of having an empty injury report, they added two more names — Chris Chambers and Kendrick Lewis — before taking off for Houston to take on the Texans.
Chambers was first injured during last week’s game while blocking, making it all the more curious that he wasn’t added to the list until two days before kickoff. He — along with the other three questionable players — was a full participant in practice, but it does bear watching over the next couple of days.
I would expect Chambers, Lewis and Jackson to all be in the lineup Sunday. The biggest question mark for me remains O’Callaghan. It’s promising that he was a full participant, but a groin injury in a sport where leverage is so important, as we’ve seen, cannot be rushed.
The Chiefs got a bit of a scare when Branden Albert went down for a short time last week and that could push Haley towards activating O’Callaghan but not starting him. Letting him serve sort of as an emergency tackle would allow him another week to get acclimated to his surrounding after missing the first five weeks of the season.
