Less than two weeks after releasing him from the practice squad, the Kansas City Chiefs re-signed FB Toben Opurum to the eight-man unit.
Opurum joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas in May and hung around all the way to final cuts. He was immediately added to the practice squad before being cut and released several times.
This latest trip to the practice squad for Opurum is possible because LB Josh Martin was promoted to the 53-man roster last weekend just before the Chiefs took on the Denver Broncos.
The former Jayhawk is the only running back on the practice squad and provides insurance over the last month of the regular season for starting FB Anthony Sherman.
