Chiefs Avoid Blackout

The Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium will not be blacked out, the team announced today.

The game will be televised locally this Sunday beginning at 12:00 Noon.  The Chiefs asked for and received a 24-hour extension from the NFL yesterday, until 12:05 PM today, to sell the remaining tickets to lift the blackout.  The usual deadline is 72 hours before kickoff.

The game will be broadcast locally on KCTV5.

And the streak continues!

As I noted yesterday, this is probably just putting off the inevitable.  The Cleveland Browns come to town next week and there are a still a ton of tickets available.  My best guess right now is that the Chiefs don’t get anywhere near close enough next week to bother requesting a 24-hour extension.

If you are going to the game, don’t forget to bring a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots!
