The Kansas City Chiefs have released their seven gameday inactives and there are no surprises among the group for this afternoon’s game in Buffalo against the Bills.
DE Allen Bailey, RB Cyrus Gray, S Kendrick Lewis, TE Steve Maneri, QB Ricky Stanzi, NT Anthony Toribio, WR Devon Wylie
The big news for the Chiefs is the player that is active today and that’s CB Brandon Flowers. After missing the entire preseason and last week’s regular season debut, Flowers will jump back into the startling lineup to give the Kansas City defense a boost.
With Flowers jumping to the active roster, taking his place is the rookie Wylie, who injured his hamstring in last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The rest of the inactives are exactly the same as Week 1. The only healthy scratches among the batch are Gray, Maneri and Stanzi. The longer Maneri is inactive at tight end in favor of Jake O’Connell should put him in position to be replaced if the Chiefs need to make a roster move.
It’s also worth noting that while Gray is no longer on the injury report, he was unable to jump over Shaun Draughn at running back, despite Draughn’s two 15-yard penalties he committed last week against the Atlanta.
