10 Players On Chiefs First Injury Report

The Kansas Chiefs first injury report for Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is out and it has the same amount of players as last week’s final report, 10. But for Romeo Crennel’s squad, the names have changed.

CB Brandon Flowers and LB Derrick Johnson spent all of last week on the Chiefs injury report, played vs. the Baltimore Ravens and are now off the report. Taking their places are QB Matt Cassel and RB Shaun Draughn.

It’s the first time appearing on Kansas City’s injury report this season for both Cassel and Draughn, with a concussion keeping the quarterback on the sidelines likely all week. Meanwhile, Draughn was a limited participant Wednesday after touching the ball a career-high 13 touches against Baltimore.

The most positive news among the injured Chiefs is the progress of safety Kendrick Lewis. Eric Berry’s running mate hasn’t been able to suit up yet this season, but was a full participant to start the week.

While Glenn Dorsey wasn’t able to practice, his backup at defensive end, Ropati Pitoitua was a full participant. Both players missed Sunday’s game, leaving the Kansas City with just one reserve defensive end on the game day roster.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a bye week and they used that time to get healthy. There are only three players on the Bucs first injury report and they were all able to participate in practice.
