The Kansas City Chiefs claimed OT Ryan O’Callaghan off waivers from the New England Patriots.
The Cleveland Browns also put in a claim on O’Callaghan, but the Chiefs had priority based on having the worse record in 2008.
Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli drafted O’Callaghan in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
This was a much anticipated move by Pioli and the Chiefs. The only question was if the Lions and/or Rams would put in a claim on the three year veteran.
O’Callaghan played in 15 games for the Patriots during their undefeated 2007 season, including a start in their final regular season victory against the Giants.
