Things just went from bad to worse for the Kansas City Chiefs. Safety Eric Berry left Sunday’s game with a knee injury that will cost him the rest of the 2011 season. Jason LaCanfora reports Berry has a torn ACL and will be placed on injured reserve.
Berry is the second major player from the Chiefs 2010 draft class to get knocked out for the season due to a knee injury after Tony Moeaki went down in the final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
What was seen coming into the season as one of the team’s best positions now falls all the way to the bottom with only Jon McGraw, Sabby Piscitelli and Donald Washington the remaining options at safety next to Kendrick Lewis.
If the Chiefs are going to have any chance to compete this season, Romeo Crennel is going to have to pull a whole lot of rabbits out of his hat.
Judging by this image being passed around Twitter, this is how Berry was injured.
