The Kansas City Chiefs have officially placed safety Eric Berry on injured reserve, ending his season. Berry joins Tony Moeaki, Brandon Siler, Ryan O’Callaghan and Gabe Miller on IR.
Taking Berry’s place on the roster will be S Reshard Langford, who was cut during the preseason. Langford first came to Kansas City late in Todd Haley first season with the Chiefs from the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad.
Even though he’s only played in six games during his career, the poor play by Jon McGraw and Sabby Piscitelli after Berry went down against the Bills could push Langford into action on defense. The Chiefs aren’t going to find anyone to replace Berry’s production, certainly not someone off the street but Langford does provide near identical physical attributes (6-0, 211/6-1, 213).
