The Kansas City Chiefs once again have a complete eight-man practice squad after the re-signing rookie DB Neiko Thorpe. He had spent all season on the Chiefs practice squad before being promoted to the 53-man roster on the eve of Sunday’s game with the Baltimore Ravens.
Due to a lack of depth in the secondary, Thorpe was active and played in the loss to the Ravens. The team cut Thorpe on Tuesday and replaced him on the roster with the man he replaced, C Bryan Mattison.
Starting safety Kendrick Lewis is optimistic he will be able to play this weekend in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers, meaning Thorpe is likely to stay on the practice squad for now.
