The Kansas City Chiefs have released their seven inactives for Sunday’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium. The biggest names are the same as last week: Glenn Dorsey and Peyton Hillis.
CB Jalil Brown, DE Glenn Dorsey, RB Peyton Hillis, S Kendrick Lewis, DE Ropati Pitoitua, QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Devon Wylie
The best news for the Chiefs is that LB Derrick Johnson is not inactive and is prepared to start. With Dorsey his backup Pitoitua both out, Kansas City’s front seven couldn’t deal with another big loss. It’s interesting to note that Johnson is the only Chiefs player listed as “questionable” or “doubtful” to suit up against the Ravens.
With both Dorsey and Pitoitua unable to go, that will force head coach and defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel to get awfully creative when rotating his defensive linemen. Allen Bailey is the only true healthy defensive end on the Kansas City roster, meaning you should expect to see rookie Dontari Poe and Anthony Toribio getting work on the outside at times.
New to the inactive list this week is Brown, who’s absence along with the inability for Lewis to find his way back on the field, is the reason undrafted free agent Neiko Thorpe was promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad late Saturday and will be active today.
