The Kansas City Chiefs have announced they re-signed LB Charlie Anderson just days after they released him to make room on the roster for S Ricky Price. To make room, the team placed LB Mark Simoneau on IR.
Anderson (6-4, 250) rejoins the Chiefs after seeing action in two games earlier this season. He has played in 94 career games (seven starts) with Houston (2004-07), Miami (2008-09) and Kansas City (2010).
Simoneau (6-0, 245) has played in 124 games (68 starts) with Atlanta (2000-02), Philadelphia (2003-05), New Orleans (2006-07) and Kansas City (2010).
Big time bummer for the former K-State star Simoneau. He had just come on board with the Chiefs a few weeks ago and saw his action against the Broncos was his first since 2007. At this point, it’s hard to believe this isn’t the end of the road for him.
No surprise to see Anderson come back to swap spots with Simoneau, since he has proven throughout his career that he can get the job done on special teams.
