The Kansas City Chiefs have released wide receiver Mark Bradley and re-signed Quinten Lawrence to take his roster spot.
Bradley played in 13 games (six starts) for the Chiefs in 2009, catching 24 passes for 320 yards with two TDs. He also had two carries for 20 yards and seven kickoff returns for 123 yards. He joined the Chiefs as a free agent in 2008.
Lawrence was a sixth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2009 NFL Draft. He has played in four games for Kansas City in 2009 and has been on the practice squad for three games. He has 12 kickoff returns for 237 yards, one carry for 16 yards and a nine-yard reception.
This move was a long time coming. The Chiefs need to find someone other than Jamaal Charles that can return kicks and Lawrence could be that guy. Yes, “could” is the key word but the team needs to find out as much as they can going into the offseason.
