The Kansas City Chiefs announced they have cut WR Devard Darling and RB Dantrell Savage.
The two transactions bring the Chiefs total to five players released who finished the 2009 season on Kansas City’s roster.
Kansas City previously released G Mike Goff on February 24th and both LBs Justin Rogers and Weston Dacus on February 8th. Goff is the only player to be released this offseason who didn’t end the 2009 season on injured reserve.
With all the trouble the team had with catching the ball, it would have been interesting to see Darling get a shot. Even though he never was consistent before he was going to get a chance. He survived being the first player ever banished from practice by Todd Haley and even fought his way all the way back to the first team.
If he isn’t able to catch on with another team when he is fully recovered from the ACL injury that ended his 2009 season before it began, you just might see him back in Kansas City.
