When the Kansas City Chiefs get back to work today, they will get back LB Tamba Hali from his one-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. However, with his return, the Chiefs will need to make a corresponding roster move.
With Hali suspended, the Chiefs were allowed to carry 54 players on their roster. That number will have to shrink to the typical 53 Tuesday.
There is no shortage of players that are likely trying to avoid eye contact with the Chiefs player personnel employees waiting at the door this morning.
Leading the candidates to be cut loose are one of the extra tight ends (Steve Maneri, Jake O’Connell) or running backs (Cyrus Gray, Nate Eachus, Shaun Draughn). Depending on the health of the Chiefs secondary, they could also decide to part ways with safety Tysyn Hartman.
The roster move could also change the makeup of the practice squad.
