Chiefs Round Out Practice Squad

The Kansas City Chiefs have filled their two holes on the practice squad by bringing in two new receivers, Logan Payne and Chandler Williams.

Payne started two games and caught three passes with Seattle in 2008 after spending time on the Seahawks practice squad.  He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota with Seattle in 2007.

Williams also entered the NFL in 2007, as a seventh-round pick of the Vikings.  He spent his college days at Florida International and attended training camp with the Falcons in 2009.

Hey, lets get these guys up and active!

I’m only half kidding.  I figure even on short notice they won’t drop passes nearly at the rate that the other Chiefs receivers have been.

Williams has experience as a kick returner and could find his way onto the field sometime in the last two weeks but most likely he’ll have to wait until the offseason to show Todd Haley and Scott Pioli if he fits.

The more intriguing of the two is Payne.  He immediately becomes the tallest receiver on the Chiefs roster along with Dwayne Bowe.  Anytime you can get guys over six feet that can run the field they are worth a look.
