The Kansas City Chiefs sent their running backs to C.A. Franklin Elementary to host a special tailgate-themed party to reward local students for their work on the MAP tests.
“It was nice to be able to come back here and see that so many of these students met their goals,” noted RB Jamaal Charles. “It’s special anytime we get to interact with kids like this but when we can come back and see the progress they’ve made, it really shows what a difference we’ve made.”
During the tailgate, the running backs and other members of the Red and Gold, including KC Wolf, played several football games. There was also, food, drinks, live music and a disk jockey as well as an arts and crafts table staffed by members of the Chiefs Women’s Organization.
Those yearly standardized tests were always one of the worst parts of the school year, so I can imagine how pumped the kids must have been to know they would get to hang out with Chiefs players once those God awful tests were done.
As usual, great job by the Chiefs getting out in the community.
