Shortly after cutting down their roster to the league limit of 53, the Kansas City Chiefs went below that limit when they traded LB Edgar Jones to the Dallas Cowboys.
In exchange for the veteran linebacker, the Chiefs will receive an undisclosed draft pick.
Jones first came to the Chiefs last season after spending the first five years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens. He has played in 57 games and recorded 32 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown.
The linebacker, who also saw time as a tight end, caught two passes for 33 yards during his time with the Ravens.
Filling the open roster spot created by the trade will likely be a player claimed on waivers. We will know if that’s the case by 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
