The Kansas City Chiefs defense is expected to be without the services of cornerback Dunta Robinson when they try to slow down Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys offense Sunday afternoon.
Robinson missed practice all week for personal reasons and was listed as questionable on the Chiefs final injury report. Though the Chiefs hadn’t revealed what was keeping Robinson from practice, ESPN reports the defensive back’s cousin is in a coma after being struck by a car.
Brandon Flowers and Sean Smith are set as the Chiefs starters, but Robinson still played a third of the defensive snaps. His absence will put pressure on rookie Marcus Cooper and journeyman Ron Parker, both of whom only made their way to Kansas City after final cuts.
This is the second straight game the Kansas City defense has been without a player due to a personal matter. Defensive end Allen Bailey was inactive following the death of his father.
We all know family is the most important thing and our thoughts will certainly be with the Robinson family during this difficult time.
