When the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, they will be without at least one player.
Andy Reid’s squad has listed rookie Nico Johnson as “out” on the final injury report. But the linebacker might not be the only player to sit out with four Chiefs — S Husain Abdullah, G Jon Asamoah, DE Allen Bailey, Te Travis Kelce — “questionable”.
Of that second group of players, Asamoah is the only starter and least likely to play. His calf has kept him out of practice, though it’s curious the door is left open for him go suit up despite not getting any reps.
Abdullah is concerning because he is dealing with a new injury to his foot. The reserve safety started the practice week healthy before being forced to the sideline.
Kelce has been practicing and of all the “questionable” players, he should be considered the most likely to play against the Jaguars.
Bailey is dealing with the loss of his father. Our thoughts continue to be with the defensive end as he and his family go through this very difficult time. It should be assumed he won’t play, but there’s no way to know considering there’s no injury involved.
The Chiefs listed six players as “probable” and there’s no reason to think any will take a turn for the worse between now and kickoff.
On the other side of the field, the Jaguars designated one player — TE Marcedes Lewis — as “out”, three are “questionable” and three are “probable”.
Take a look at the final injury reports for both teams.
