Chiefs Add Three To Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs injury report jumped from eight to 11 on Thursday and all three additions are players expected to be important contributors.

Of the players added to the injury report, backup safety Husain Abdullah is the most worrisome. A foot injury kept him from practicing and if he isn’t able to get back on the field Friday, the Kansas City secondary depth could be in trouble right out of the gate.

One of the other additions, Sean Smith, is a starter in the secondary, but his neck issue doesn’t seem to be serious. The cornerback was a full participant and should be ready to go line up opposite Brandon Flowers Sunday.

Reserve linebacker Dezman Moses is fighting a foot injury, but also was able to practice fully.

The biggest issue for the Chiefs heading into Sunday is the continued absence of starting guard Jon Asamoah. He’s yet to practice this week and at this point it would have to be considered a long shot for him to play against the Jaguars.

It’s also looking like backup linebacker Nico Johnson (ankle) and Allen Bailey (personal) could miss Sunday’s game with both missing practice Thursday.

The Jaguars injury report didn’t add any players, though TE Marcedes Lewis was downgraded, while WR Stephen Burton was bumped up to a full particpant.

Take a look at the full reports for both teams.
