The Kansas City Chiefs return to Arrowhead Stadium Sunday as 5 point favorites against the Tennessee Titans. Considering the importance of the game for the Chiefs while the Titans would need a miracle to make the playoffs, it’s easy to see why they are favored in Vegas.
Before you making you final decision on which way to go with the game, here are a few trends to consider.
- The Titans are 7-7 ATS.
- The Titans are 3-3 ATS away.
- The Titans are 3-3 ATS as the underdog.
- The Titans are 2-3 ATS as an away underdog.
- The Chiefs are 8-6 ATS.
- The Chiefs are 4-2 ATS at home.
- The Chiefs are 3-4 ATS as the favorite.
- The Chiefs are 2-2 ATS as a home favorite.
These numbers are nice and should be another piece of the puzzle when you are making a decision, but there’s one number that matters to me: Chiefs are 6-0 at home this season. Half of those games have been decided by less than 5 points, which might make you think twice about giving the Titans too many points. Just remember that Kansas City won the other three by nearly three touchdowns.
While we’re talking about threes, Tennessee has lost their last three games on the road by an average of over 13 points.
Add in the Titans not having played one snap in weather as cold as what they will face Sunday in Kansas City and 5 points seems much too low for me.
