The Chiefs continued to shuffle the bottom of the roster today, waiving RB Tervaris Johnson and signing OL Dan Santucci.
Santucci (6-4, 305) originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (230th overall) of Cincinnati in 2007, playing in two games with the Bengals as a rookie. The Hardwood Heights, Illinois native was a four-year letterman at Notre Dame.
Johnson appeared in 48 games at the University of Miami, catching eight passes for 94 yards.
This isn’t a move that should shake the depth chart much or come as a surprise. Johnson had been injured and faced an uphill battle with the quality stable of running backs that the Chiefs currently have.
Santucci will also have a long way to go if he wants to make the roster, but due to injuries and his familiarity with Charlie Weis from their time together at Notre Dame he should get a chance to show what he’s got.
