The Dallas Cowboys replaced the recently released Anthony Hargrove with former Kansas City Chiefs DT Jerome Long on Monday.
Long, a seventh-round pick of former Chiefs GM Scott Pioli in 2012 out of San Diego State, never appeared in a game during his time in Kansas City. He failed to make the 53-man foster last year, but was quickly added to the Chiefs practice squad.
Despite a lot of movement on the practice squad, Long was a fixture until the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him the final week of the regular season. He was released by the Jaguars following April’s draft.
The Cowboys had Long in their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, but waited until cutting ties with Hargrove before inking him to a deal.
