After more than a month of back and forth, the Dallas Cowboys and former Kansas City Chiefs guard Brian Waters have come to terms on a one-year deal.
Waters built an impressive resume with the Chiefs during his 11-year run. After his time in Kansas City, Waters played one season with the New England Patriots in 2011 before deciding to sit out last season.
The veteran’s one-year deal in Dallas will pay him $1.5 million in base salary and up to $3 million depending on play-time incentives.
The Cowboys have had multiple problems on their offensive line and Waters should be able to quickly claim a starting job, though it likely won’t be this week.
When the Cowboys take on the Giants Sunday, Waters is expected to sit out, according to the team’s official site.
