The New York Jets have added former Kansas City Chiefs LB David Herron to their training camp roster, giving the 27-year-old a shot to make the team on special teams.
Herron played in 10 games with the Chiefs in 2009, recording 10 tackles including two games with two each. He then entered camp with Kansas City in 2010, but was released as part of the team’s final cut down. Herron then landed in San Diego with the Chargers in the middle of last season for two games.
Considering he spent a big chunk of 2009 and all of training camp in 2010 in Kansas City, plus a short amount of time with the New England Patriots when Scott Pioli was there, Herron is a name Chiefs fans could hear again down the line.
