After another incredible effort, Kansas City Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson was honored by the NFL as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.  The award comes a week after teammate Brandon Flowers credited the linebacker for opening thing up for his big game against the Oakland Raiders leading to the same honor.

In the Chiefs 23-20 win over the San Diego Chargers, Johnson had 16 tackles, five QB pressures, four tackles for a loss and three passes defensed along with his first sack and interception of the season.

Through seven games, Johnson is on pace to easily top the career year he put together in 2010.
