The Kansas City Chiefs have released their list of 8 inactive players for today’s game against the Seahawks in Seattle.
WR Dexter McCluster, CB Brandon Flowers, FB Tim Castille, CB/S Donald Washington, S Jon McGraw, LB Charlie Anderson, LB Justin Cole, DL Anthony Toribio.
It will hurt to miss McCluster for a fifth game, but there are bigger issues among this list. Flowers will — and should — get the attention but being without Washington and McGraw in the defensive backfield raises serious questions about just who will be able to get the job done today in the passing game. Seattle’s best receiver, Mike Williams, is also inactive so that will help matters but I would still expect to see Seattle try to go to the air early and often.
The rest of the inactive players are the same names we see every week and won’t impact the game. A name NOT on the list that should have an impact is TE Tony Moeaki. After that hit he took in the Denver game, I’m pleasantly surprised to see him back so quickly. Fellow TE Jake O’Connell had the best game of his young career last week (2 catches, 24 yards) after only having 14 yards total receiving yards entering the game, but Moeaki has shown the potential to be a game changer.
