The Kansas City Chiefs hit the practice field on Wednesday to prepare for this weekend’s showdown with the Denver Broncos. While rookie Dexter McCluster has finally found his way off of the Chiefs injury report, there are still several notable players.
Jackie Bates (knee)
Ryan Lilja (foot)
Brandon Flowers (hamstring)
Jon McGraw (head)
Along with McCluster now being off the injury report and all but guaranteeing his return against the Broncos, Flowers making progress — however little — is a great sign. The thin secondary played well last week against the Seahawks, but we saw very clearly just a few weeks ago that Denver brings a much more potent passing attack than anything Seattle could hope to put together.
Lilja was watching Jon Asamoah take snaps with the first unit, but we should see the veteran on the line Sunday. More importantly, left tackle Branden Albert should be back on that line with him after dressing — but not playing — against the Seahawks.
