Just days before the Kansas City Chiefs report to St. Joseph, MO for the start of their 2012 training camp, they joined a growing list of teams dealing with one of their players getting arrested.
DB Donald Washington was pulled over Thursday afternoon in Illinois for speeding when the officer smelled marijuana and found a small amount in his car following a search.
Washington was arrested and charged with DUI drugs, unlawful possession, speeding and driving with a suspended license. He was released on $20,000 bond and is due in court on August 23, the day before the Chiefs will host the Seattle Seahawks in the always important third preseason game.
Washington was planning on attending a Meek Mill concert Friday night in Kansas City presented by Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles. No word yet if he was able to make it to the event being held at the Madrid Theatre on Main.
Even with his ability to play both corner and safety, with all of the additions GM Scott Pioli made in the defensive backfield in the offseason, Washington was going to need everything to fall right just to make the team. Certainly getting arrested on the eve of training camp isn’t going to make things any easier for Washington.
