Plenty Of Movement In Chiefs Re-Draft
With no real football to talk about, it seems like the perfect time to take a look into the past.
If we had a re-do of the 2008 draft, how much would the players the Chiefs selected jump? Rick Reilly did just that and there is some interesting movement for the folks from Kansas City.
5 – Jamaal Charles – Original Pick: 73
16 – Brandon Flowers – Original Pick: 35
21 – Brandon Carr – Original Pick: 140
27 – Glenn Dorsey – Original Pick: 5
152 – Branden Albert – Original Pick: 15
No one will argue with moving Charles up into the top five. If you ask me, he belongs ahead of Ray Rice at No. 4 and maybe even in front of DeSean Jackson.
Carr and Dorsey’s moves make perfect sense, but I have an issue with where both Flowers and Albert are.
Remember that Prince Amukamara “fell” to nineteen in this year’s draft and I would absolutely rather have Flowers. Even more insulting is that Reilly puts Aqib Talib and Tracy Porter both higher in the re-draft.
There has been plenty of concern about Albert not yet stepping up and proving he belongs at left tackle, but 152? People continue to underestimate the big man from Virginia — both locally and nationally — so this isn’t much of a surprise.
